Election Officials Begin Distributing November 2026 General Election Ballots

Election officials in California and Nebraska have initiated the distribution of materials for the November 3, 2026, General Election. In Los Angeles County, Dean C. Logan, the Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk, announced the mailing of Sample Ballot Books, with Vote by Mail ballots scheduled to be distributed starting October 1.

In Lancaster County, Nebraska, the Election Commission has begun mailing early vote ballots after processing more than 34,000 requests. Election Commissioner Todd Wiltgen reported that 360 requests were rejected because of missing identification or signatures.

Lancaster County voters can currently pick up early ballots in person, although in-person voting at the commission office does not start until October 5. The deadline to request an early ballot by mail in that jurisdiction is October 23, and all ballots must be received by 8 p.m. on Election Day.
