BNY is launching a digital registry to centralize data on US consumer loans and asset-backed securities to prevent systemic fraud.
BNY is launching a digital registry designed to eliminate systemic blind spots within the 1 trillion dollar asset-backed securities market. Developed in coordination with the Structured Finance Association, the platform centralizes data on US consumer loans and asset-backed securities to provide greater transparency for the industry.
The tool enables bankers and investors to track financial deals from their initial launch through secondary market trading. This initiative follows a series of massive frauds, including the Tricolor event a year prior, which revealed hidden risks embedded within routine financial documentation.
