Anthropic Partners With Macquarie and GIC for AI Data Centers

Anthropic PBC formed Theseus Infrastructure with Macquarie Asset Management and GIC to develop AI computing sites across the United States.

Anthropic PBC partnered with Macquarie Asset Management and the Singaporean wealth fund GIC on Monday to establish Theseus Infrastructure, a venture dedicated to building artificial intelligence data centers. The partnership focuses on developing AI computing sites within the United States.

Under the terms of the agreement, Macquarie and GIC will provide the majority of the equity for each project. Anthropic committed to covering any resulting increases in consumer electricity prices. The partners did not disclose specific spending amounts or the size of the planned projects.

This initiative follows a 2025 announcement by Anthropic to invest $50 billion in custom data centers in locations including Texas and New York. The move allows the developer of the Claude AI to scale its infrastructure, mirroring similar large-scale investment strategies employed by competitors such as OpenAI.
