Ryanair Extends Bag Drop Deadline to 60 Minutes
Ryanair is requiring passengers with checked bags to complete check-in 60 minutes before departure starting November 10 to reduce flight delays.
Starting November 10, Ryanair will require passengers who check bags to complete the check-in and bag drop process 60 minutes before their scheduled departure. This is an increase from the previous 40-minute deadline.
Chief Marketing Officer Dara Brady stated the change aims to give the 20% of customers who check bags more time to clear security and passport control, particularly during busy travel periods. Passengers who check in online and do not have bags to drop will remain unaffected by the new rule.
The policy shift follows the airline's rollout of self-service bag-drop kiosks, which integrate with the Ryanair app to allow passengers to print tags. The company expects these kiosks to be available at over 95% of its airports by October.
