Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners Acquires Stake in Five Estuaries Wind Farm

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners acquired a 25% stake in the Five Estuaries Offshore Wind Farm from a Macquarie-led consortium to develop the 1,080MW project.

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners acquired a 25% stake in the Five Estuaries Offshore Wind Farm, purchasing the share previously held by a Macquarie-led consortium. The transaction was executed through the firm's fifth flagship fund, Copenhagen Infrastructure V.

The wind farm is located approximately 40km off the coasts of north Essex and south Suffolk. With a capacity of up to 1,080MW, the facility received development consent in December 2025 and is expected to generate enough electricity to power roughly one million average UK homes annually.

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners now joins a development partnership that includes EDF power solutions, which holds a 33.33% stake, and both ESB and Sumitomo Corporation, which each hold 20.83%. The partners are currently managing project design, early procurement, and stakeholder engagement.
