India Demands Accountability After Slovenia Embassy Vandalism

The Ministry of External Affairs of India strongly condemned the vandalism and defacement of the Indian embassy premises in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Anti-India elements, identified as Khalistan separatists, defaced the embassy building and the Indian flag with slogans including "Khalistan Zindabad".

Indian officials formally raised the issue with Slovenian authorities in both New Delhi and Ljubljana, demanding that the perpetrators be held accountable to the full extent of the law. The ministry asserted that diplomatic premises are inviolable and must be protected under the Vienna Convention. This incident follows recent high-level diplomatic efforts to advance economic and diplomatic cooperation, including meetings between Indian Ambassador Amit Narang and Slovenian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tone Kajzer.

India further urged law enforcement agencies in Slovenia and other nations to monitor and act against hateful propaganda and disinformation spread by these groups. The government noted that Indian diplomatic missions in Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States have faced similar targeting and vandalism in recent years.
