JPMorgan Upgrades Corteva Stock Following Vylor Seed Business Spinout
JPMorgan upgraded Corteva to overweight with a $19 price target after the company spun out its seed business into a new entity called Vylor.
JPMorgan upgraded Corteva stock from neutral to overweight, setting a $19 price target that implies a 53% upside from the previous Monday close. The upgrade follows Corteva's decision earlier this month to spin out its seed business into a new entity called Vylor, a move intended to prioritize its agricultural chemical business.
Analyst Jeffrey Zekauskas stated that Corteva is currently undervalued and is expected to grow by in-licensing new crop chemical molecules with high margins. While the company has seen shares fall 6% over the past month and faces legal liabilities regarding the use of forever chemicals in its formulations, Zekauskas suggests the company will overcome these issues.
Looking ahead, JPMorgan expects a recovery in corn prices from $4.00 per bushel toward $5 per bushel. This price shift is expected to create significant pricing opportunities for the company by 2027.
