Chandrababu Naidu Inaugurates Veligonda Project Phase-I

Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, inaugurated Phase-I of the Veligonda Project at Gantavanipalle in the Markapuram district on Monday. The project brings Krishna water to the region after the current coalition government resolved technical failures, including a Tunnel Boring Machine that had become stuck in the tunnels.

During the ceremony, Naidu criticized the previous Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) administration for conducting what he termed a "fake inauguration" of the project just one month before the 2024 general elections. He alleged that the YSRCP government dedicated the project to the nation while works worth 4,000 crore rupees were still pending, claiming the previous tenure caused significant delays.
