Vietnam and Singapore Launch Strategic Dialogue on Technology Connectivity

Politburo Member Tran Cam Tu concluded an official visit to Singapore on August 25, 2026, marked by the inaugural Vietnam-Singapore Strategic Dialogue. Co-chaired by Tu and Singaporean Minister Chan Chun Sing, the dialogue established a formal exchange mechanism between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the People's Action Party to enhance national competitiveness and resilience.

The two parties adopted the Vietnam-Singapore Joint Statement on Technology Connectivity Strategy for 2026-2030. This agreement focuses on building a shared innovation space and developing future-ready talent, specifically making cadre training a key pillar to improve modern governance and strategic thinking. The nations agreed to expand cooperation into artificial intelligence, semiconductor technology, digital transformation, and green energy through a new three-party partnership involving the state, businesses, and the scientific community.

During the visit, Tu met with President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Prime Minister Lawrence Wong to deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership established in 2025. Beyond technology, the leaders committed to strengthening ASEAN unity and coordinating efforts to combat transnational crime. The diplomatic mission also included a ceremony commemorating the 81st anniversary of Vietnam's National Day.
