Nvidia Inc. has become the most valuable company in the world, reaching a market capitalization of $5.5 trillion. The company currently holds an 80% share of the data center chip market, which fueled a 106% year-over-year revenue increase to $96.2 billion for its fiscal second quarter ending July 26. Net income for the period rose 126%.
Chief Financial Officer Colette Kress estimates that hyperscalers building data centers will spend nearly $800 billion in combined capital expenditures in 2026. Analysts expect the company's revenue to grow at a compound annual rate of 61% between fiscal 2026 and 2029, with diluted earnings per share projected to rise 65% annually.
Despite the launch of the Vera Rubin platform and strong financial growth, the stock maintains a forward price-to-earnings ratio of 25. This valuation reflects ongoing investor uncertainty regarding the long-term durability of the artificial intelligence boom.
