Bridgepoint, Bain Capital and Aquiline Bid for W1M
Private equity firms Bridgepoint, Bain Capital, and Aquiline are competing to acquire UK wealth manager W1M in a second-round auction process.
Private equity firms Bridgepoint Plc, Bain Capital, and Aquiline are bidding to acquire W1M, a wealth and investment management firm based in the United Kingdom. The sale process, which is being advised by Rothschild, has progressed into its second round of auctions.
W1M was established in 2024 following the merger of London and Capital Group Limited and Waverton Investment Management Group Limited. The company reportedly generates annual earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization of approximately £70 million. US-based private equity firm Lovell Minnick previously held an investment in the company starting in 2023.
While multiple private credit firms have expressed interest in funding the acquisition, Ares, an existing lender to W1M, has already provided staple financing for the transaction.
