NiSource Proposes $57.5 Million Savings Plan for NIPSCO Customers

NiSource proposed a $57.5 million savings plan providing monthly bill credits to NIPSCO residential customers through data center development and a partnership with Microsoft.

NiSource announced a proposed $57.5 million savings plan for Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO) customers on October 28, 2026. The initiative is tied to data center development and would provide temporary monthly bill credits for residential electric customers, pending regulatory approval.

Under the proposal, a typical residential account would receive approximately $5 off its monthly bill for 18 months. These credits are expected to begin roughly one month after the plan receives official approval.

Beyond the immediate credits, NiSource projects $1.75 billion in total savings for existing customers. These savings stem from signed GenCo agreements, which include a new partnership with Microsoft.
