Teva Obtains U.S. Commercialization Rights for Samsung Bioepis Biosimilars

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. agreed to commercialize two Samsung Bioepis immunology biosimilars in the United States through a profit-sharing agreement.

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. entered into an agreement with Samsung Bioepis to obtain U.S. commercialization rights for two FDA-approved immunology biosimilars, etanercept-ykro (ETICOVO) and infliximab-abda. Both products are tumor necrosis factor inhibitors used to treat autoimmune conditions such as plaque psoriasis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Teva will acquire the rights to etanercept-ykro by the end of 2026, while the rights to infliximab-abda will transfer in the third quarter of 2027. Samsung Bioepis will maintain responsibility for the manufacturing and regulatory oversight of both medicines. Under the terms of the deal, Teva will provide an upfront payment over three years, with further payments tied to sales and launch milestones. The two companies will share profits from the commercialization of the products.

This deal expands an existing strategic alliance between the two firms. The collaboration aims to leverage the manufacturing capabilities of Samsung Bioepis and the commercial reach of Teva across U.S. healthcare channels to ensure treatment continuity for patients.
