Bristol Myers Squibb Deploys Anthropic Claude AI Globally

Bristol Myers Squibb partnered with Anthropic to provide 30,000 employees with Claude AI agentic capabilities to accelerate drug development and automate corporate functions.

Bristol Myers Squibb entered into a strategic agreement with Anthropic on May 20, 2026, to deploy the Claude AI model across its global operations. The integration provides more than 30,000 employees with advanced reasoning and agentic capabilities across research, clinical development, manufacturing, commercial, and corporate functions.

The partnership aims to move beyond standard chatbots to create a single intelligence layer that connects institutional knowledge and breaks down decades of data silos. Specifically, the company will use Claude Code for engineering and data science, and apply AI agents to optimize drug targets in immunology, neuroscience, hematology, and oncology. The technology is designed to automate regulatory submissions, generate clinical study reports from trial data, and identify the root causes of manufacturing deviations in real time.

Greg Meyers, the company's chief digital and technology officer, stated that the collaboration is intended to unlock untapped value and accelerate innovation for patients. Following the announcement, Bristol Myers shares rose 0.54 percent to $58.64 in pre-market trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
