SCO Adopts Development Strategy Through 2035

Shanghai Cooperation Organization Deputy Secretary-General Ahmad Saidmurodzoda praised China's role in establishing a comprehensive regional development roadmap through 2035.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has adopted a Development Strategy until 2035, establishing a comprehensive action plan for the next decade. Ahmad Saidmurodzoda, the SCO Deputy Secretary-General, described the strategy as a roadmap focused on practical solutions and concrete agreements.

The strategy was finalized during the SCO Tianjin Summit held from August 31 to September 1, 2025. Saidmurodzoda stated that the summit turned a new page in the history of the organization by prioritizing actionable outcomes over abstract goals.

Saidmurodzoda credited the Government of China with consistently expanding the organization's cooperation agenda since its founding in 2001. He noted that China's leadership as chair has been instrumental in advancing regional security, trade, economic affairs, and cultural exchange.
