TCS Restructures 14 Leadership Roles to Drive AI Transformation

Tata Consultancy Services created five new business units and reshuffled top leadership to address AI disruption and evolving client demands for platform modernization.

Tata Consultancy Services announced a major leadership reshuffle on July 13, 2026, representing its most significant restructuring in three years. The company reorganized 14 top roles and established five new business units to capitalize on AI-led transformation and platform ecosystems. These changes include the creation of dedicated groups for Travel, Transport & Hospitality; Energy, Resources & Utilities; a US West Coast business group; and an Autonomous Business Operations unit led by Akhilesh Tiwari.

A central part of the overhaul involves the high-revenue Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) Americas vertical, which was split into two operating groups led by Rakesh Kumar and Mohan Veeturi. Former head Susheel Vasudevan transitioned to a strategic role reporting directly to the CEO. Additionally, the company established a new ServiceNow business unit headed by Rajnish Palande as part of a 360-degree partnership with the software firm.

CEO and MD K Krithivasan stated that the reorganization aims to strengthen leadership bandwidth and maintain closer alignment with client needs during the AI era. Other key appointments include Manmeet Chhabra as Country Head for Canada, V Rajanna leading the integrated Communications, Media, Information Services & Technology group, and Kumaranarayanan heading the cybersecurity business unit. This move follows a 2023 transition to a vertical-based model and workforce reductions of approximately 12,000 employees in 2025.
