Aide to US Ambassador Mike Huckabee Allegedly Manipulated Reports

David Milstein, a top aide and chief of staff to U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee, allegedly suppressed or altered diplomatic reports to portray the Israeli government of Benjamin Netanyahu in a more favorable light. Internal documents and U.S. officials indicate that Milstein blocked urgent reporting on settler violence and the expansion of Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

Milstein also allegedly suppressed a detailed account regarding the killings of nine Palestinian Americans to stonewall congressional inquiries and rewrote a cable about a food distribution operation in Gaza to frame it as a success despite mass casualties. These actions led some White House and State Department officials to bypass standard channels to communicate directly with embassy staff to ensure they received accurate information.

Ambassador Huckabee has expressed absolute confidence in Milstein's integrity and dismissed the allegations as farcical. Meanwhile, Senator Chris Van Hollen has led congressional efforts to seek accountability for the deaths of Palestinian Americans, arguing that a lack of accountability endangers more citizens. The United States Department of State stated that its team remains focused on advancing the America First agenda.
