Diljit Dosanjh and Hanumankind Condemn Police Action Against Students

Singer Diljit Dosanjh and rapper Hanumankind criticized the use of police force against students protesting in New Delhi.

Rapper Hanumankind and singer Diljit Dosanjh condemned the police response to the Chalo Sansad march in New Delhi on Monday. The protest, which involved students citing NEET exam irregularities, the Cockroach Janata Party, and activist Sonam Wangchuk, demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Delhi Police dispersed the crowd using tear gas and lathi-charges.

Hanumankind joined the demonstrators during the march and later used social media to state there was no justification for the force used against the people. The event initially drew social media criticism toward Dosanjh, who had previously distanced himself from Jantar Mantar protests by claiming he is an artist and not a politician.

Dosanjh responded by expressing solidarity with the students and urging authorities to listen to their demands. He described the treatment of the students as "very unfortunate" and noted that he expects to be labeled an "anti-national" again, recalling similar backlash and legal problems he faced after supporting farmers' protests against 2020 farm laws.
