Aequs Signs Long-Term Aerospace Supply Deals With Safran
Aequs signed long-term agreements with Safran to manufacture critical aircraft components for Boeing and Airbus programs at facilities in India.
Indian precision manufacturing firm Aequs signed long-term supply agreements with French aerospace group Safran on October 12, 2026, to produce critical aircraft components. The deals expand a partnership that previously focused on Safran Landing Systems to now include Safran Aerosystems and Safran Electronics & Defense, bringing the total number of Safran entities Aequs supports to six.
The contracts cover the machining of superalloy parts, complex coatings, and the assembly of landing gear components for the Boeing 787 and the Airbus A320, A330, and A350 programs. A key element of the collaboration is a serial production contract for A320 family aircraft wheels extending through 2042, which follows a July 2026 agreement and will feature 100% in-country manufacturing value addition in India.
Production will be centered at the Belagavi Aerospace Cluster in Karnataka and the upcoming Aequs Engine Components Ecosystem (AECE) facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. Aequs reported that its aerospace order book exceeded $1 billion in the first quarter of FY27, with revenue growing 55 percent to ₹395.5 crore, despite a net loss of ₹53.2 crore during that period.
