General Mills Names Dana McNabb as Next CEO

General Mills announced that Chief Operating Officer Dana McNabb will succeed CEO Jeff Harmening next year to lead the company through rising input costs.

General Mills announced that Chief Operating Officer Dana McNabb will succeed CEO Jeff Harmening next year. McNabb is a 27-year veteran of the company with a background in international operations and enterprise strategy. She will take over leadership as the packaged foods maker manages a challenging spending environment characterized by margin pressures and rising input costs.

Rising costs for steel and aluminum packaging, driven by U.S. import tariffs, have created specific headwinds for the company. Harmening has served as CEO since 2018 and joined the organization in 1994, during which time he managed the divestiture of underperforming brands.

Despite these pressures, the company recently beat first-quarter sales and profit estimates. General Mills reaffirmed its annual forecast, attributing the performance to resilient product demand and strategic price increases.
