Google Confirms Pixel 11 Launch for August 12 Event
Google will unveil the Pixel 11 smartphone series and Pixel Watch 5 on August 12 in New York City, featuring new hardware and higher base pricing.
Google confirmed it will host its Made by Google event on August 12, 2026, in New York City at 6 PM ET to debut the Pixel 11 smartphone series and Pixel Watch 5. The lineup consists of four models: the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and a thinner Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The devices will utilize the Tensor G6 chip, manufactured by TSMC using a 2nm process, and transition to MediaTek modems to improve connectivity and battery life.
Due to a global memory chip shortage described as RAMageddon, Google is eliminating the 128GB storage tier, making 256GB the new baseline. This shift, combined with rising component costs, has led to price increases. Leaked Amazon listings suggest the base Pixel 11 will start at $899, a $100 increase over previous models, while European pricing for the Pro XL and Pro Fold may rise by approximately €100. To clear inventory, Google has discounted the Pixel 10 Pro to as low as $699.
Design updates include a redesigned camera bar and a rumored RGB LED notification system called Pixel Glow. Leaked renders from Mystic Leaks show the Pro Fold in a new Pine color and a slimmer profile, measuring 10.1mm folded. Other anticipated reveals include new Pixel Buds Pro and a Google Pixel Tag item tracker. Pre-orders are expected to begin on August 12, with shipping starting around August 20, though the Pro Fold may not arrive until October 2026.
