Toyota to Produce Hybrid Lexus NX in Ontario Plant

Toyota Motor Corp. will begin production of its updated, hybrid-only Lexus NX compact crossover at its Cambridge, Ontario, plant in December. The decision signals the Japanese automaker's commitment to Canadian manufacturing, a move that contrasts with several U.S. rivals currently downsizing their production footprints within the country.
The Cambridge factory complex has operated for 38 years and serves as a hub for multiple models, including the Toyota RAV4 and Lexus RX. The facility maintains a heavy export focus, with approximately 85% of its manufactured vehicles shipped primarily to the United States market, while the remaining 15% are sold locally in Canada.
