Berkshire Hathaway holds a 400-million-share stake in The Coca-Cola Company valued at $33 billion. This position represents the conglomerate's third-largest trade and its longest-held investment, initiated in 1988. The shares were acquired at a split-adjusted price of under $5.00 and have risen to more than $82 per share, marking a 1,580% gain.
Originally costing less than $2 billion, the investment now generates nearly $850 million in annual dividend income. These funds are integrated into a cash stockpile managed by CEO Greg Abel for future deployment. The Coca-Cola Company has increased its per-share dividend payments every year for the last 64 years.
