Pushkar Singh Dhami Leads Run for Kargil Heroes Marathon
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami flagged off a marathon in Dehradun to commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas and honor fallen Indian soldiers.
Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami flagged off the Run for Kargil Heroes marathon in Dehradun on July 25, 2026. The event, held at Shaurya Sthal in Chidbagh, Garhi Cantt, served as part of the state's observance of Kargil Vijay Diwas, commemorating the Indian Armed Forces' victory in Operation Vijay during the 1999 Kargil War.
Before the run, Dhami laid a wreath at the war memorial to honor fallen soldiers before joining hundreds of participants in the marathon. During media interactions, he praised the courage of the armed forces and the leadership of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Dhami also addressed national development, asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's administration has created 17 crore employment opportunities for Indian youth over the last 12 years.
