Nvidia and Broadcom Lead Massive 2026 AI Infrastructure Boom

Nvidia and Broadcom dominate the AI hardware market as infrastructure spending is projected to reach $1.4 trillion in 2026.

The artificial intelligence sector is entering a period of sustained expansion, with infrastructure spending projected to reach nearly $1.4 trillion in 2026. Nvidia Corporation maintains a dominant position, holding over 90% of the discrete GPU market. The company is transitioning from its Blackwell line to the Rubin chip architecture in the second half of 2026, with CFO Colette Kress reporting revenue visibility exceeding $500 billion for these systems through late 2026. Nvidia Corporation projects that annual global data center capital expenditures will grow from $600 billion in 2025 to between $3 trillion and $4 trillion by 2030.

Broadcom Inc is carving out a significant niche by partnering with hyperscalers to design bespoke application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs), currently controlling an estimated 60% of the AI server ASIC market. Similarly, Marvell Technology, Inc. is expanding its custom processor designs for major U.S. hyperscalers including Amazon and Microsoft. Meanwhile, Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. is attempting to challenge Nvidia Corporation's dominance, targeting a 60% compound annual growth rate for its data center division over the next five years.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company serves as the production backbone for these designers, increasing its capital expenditure budget to between $52 billion and $56 billion to expand production and packaging capacities. Complementing this hardware surge, Micron Technology is experiencing soaring demand for high-bandwidth memory and storage, with some analysts forecasting NAND memory prices could rise 330% year over year in 2026 due to cloud data center expansion.
