Spain Producer Price Inflation Moderates to 7.0 Percent in June

The National Institute of Statistics and Geography reported that producer price inflation in Spain moderated to 7.0 percent yearly in June, down from a 10.5 percent increase recorded in May.

This easing trend was primarily driven by a significant slowdown in energy price growth, which rose 14.3 percent in June compared to a 28.5 percent jump in May. On a monthly basis, producer prices remained flat in June, following a 1.0 percent rise in the previous month.

Other sectors showed mixed results. Annual price growth for intermediate goods accelerated from 6.0 percent to 6.6 percent. Meanwhile, prices for capital goods and consumer goods grew by 2.5 percent and 1.0 percent, respectively.
