Ofcom Investigates GB News Over Pride Parade Comments

Ofcom, the United Kingdom's media regulator, is investigating GB News for potential breaches of broadcasting standards regarding offensive material. The probe follows a July broadcast of 'Alex Armstrong Tonight,' during which guest Caroline Farrow suggested that Pride in London parades had shifted from advocating for gay rights to celebrating "bizarre and unhealthy kinks," specifically linking the events to paedophilia and bestiality.

The remarks triggered more than 12,000 complaints. Green Party leader Zack Polanski and Bimini, a star of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, co-signed an open letter describing the comments as "dangerous" disinformation.

GB News stated that the remarks were the personal views of a contributor and did not reflect the network's editorial position. Presenter Alex Armstrong challenged the comments during the live debate and later condemned them as an "age-old gay trope" used to demonize and slander gay people.
