UN Reports Decline in Gaza Aid and West Bank Deaths

The United Nations reports a drop in humanitarian aid entering Gaza and the deaths of a teenager and infant in the West Bank.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reported on July 7 that Israeli border closures and restrictions reduced the volume of critical aid entering the Gaza Strip in June. Total aid deliveries fell to approximately 42,000 pallets, a decrease from the 46,600 pallets recorded in May. All cargo crossings remain closed except for Kerem Shalom, where restrictions on specific supply types persist.

UN Spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric detailed that last week, only 42 percent of approved supplies from Egypt and 65 percent from Ashdod port were successfully offloaded at Kerem Shalom. Meanwhile, a delegation from the UN and the World Health Organization visited the UAE Field Hospital in Gaza to coordinate medical services.

Simultaneously, UN agencies reported casualties in the West Bank. Israeli forces shot and killed a 16-year-old in Qalandiya camp and blocked a village gate in the Ramallah governorate, which delayed medical access and led to the death of a four-month-old infant. UNICEF further reported that over 60,000 children in Gaza have been killed or injured since the conflict began.
