Piyush Goyal Leads Record 200-Member Business Delegation to Japan
Union Minister Piyush Goyal is leading India's largest-ever business delegation to Japan to deepen trade ties in semiconductors, clean energy, and artificial intelligence.
Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal is leading India's largest-ever business delegation to Japan from August 24 to 27, 2026. The mission consists of over 200 representatives from critical sectors, including semiconductors, clean energy, automotive, healthcare, and artificial intelligence.
Traveling to Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka, Goyal will hold bilateral talks with Japan's Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Akazawa Ryosei, and meet with leadership from the Japan Business Federation and other major conglomerates. The itinerary includes business roadshows in Nagoya and Osaka to showcase Indian manufacturing and consumer market opportunities, alongside at least 200 B2B meetings and 15 site visits to innovation centers and manufacturing plants.
The Ministry of Commerce & Industry stated the visit aims to deepen trade and investment ties within the Special Strategic and Global Partnership, supporting India's vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat @2047. FICCI Director General Jyoti Vij noted that the mission focuses on high-technology areas like electronics and semiconductors, expecting several Memoranda of Understanding to be signed as a result of the engagement.
