Roku Launches Subscription Bundles and Experimental Roku Labs Hub

Roku, Inc. launched more than 30 new premium subscription bundles in the United States and Mexico, pairing streaming services like HBO Max, AMC+, and Starz at discounts of up to 33%. The bundles, which include Roku's own ad-free service Howdy, allow users to manage multiple subscriptions through a single bill. This move aligns with a broader industry trend toward streaming consolidation, mirroring recent efforts by Amazon Prime Video.

Alongside the subscription updates, the company unveiled Roku Labs, a new hub providing U.S. customers early access to experimental first-party applications. Initial offerings include Roku Stocks for portfolio tracking, Roku Weather, Backdrops Studio for custom artwork, and a game called Roku Dash set within the Roku City screensaver. To better compete with AI-driven platforms from Google and Amazon, Roku is also expanding its personalized Home Screen to Brazil and Mexico and enhancing its voice assistant capabilities.

In a shift toward open development, Roku is releasing LT OS, the software powering its remote controls and Smart Home platforms, as free open-source software. These announcements come as the company, which now serves over 100 million global households, awaits the completion of a $22 billion acquisition by Fox Corporation expected in the first half of 2027.
