Croatia GDP Growth Slows to 1.7 Percent in Q2

The Croatian Bureau of Statistics reported that Croatia's gross domestic product grew by 1.7 percent yearly in the second quarter of 2026. This figure represents the slowest expansion for the country in five-and-a-half years and follows a higher growth rate of 2.2 percent recorded in the first quarter.

The slowdown resulted from moderating household consumption, which grew 0.5 percent, and gross fixed capital formation, which rose 1.7 percent. In contrast, general government consumption accelerated to 2.0 percent. Trade activity remained positive, with exports and imports increasing by 3.0 percent and 3.4 percent, respectively.

On a seasonally adjusted quarterly basis, the economy showed a slight recovery. The June quarter saw a 0.4 percent rebound, following a 0.1 percent decrease during the March quarter.
