India and US Launch Pax Silica and Multi-Billion Dollar AI Deals

India and the United States signed the Pax Silica agreement and announced over $250 billion in AI and semiconductor investments during a series of summits in February 2026.

The Federal government of the United States and the Government of India formalized the Pax Silica agreement during the AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi. The pact establishes a strategic framework for semiconductors, critical minerals, and energy infrastructure to counter weaponized dependency and secure global silicon supply chains. Parallel to this, the U.S. launched an AI exports stack to scale American technology globally.

Financial commitments at the summit exceeded $250 billion. Indian conglomerates Reliance Industries and Adani Group pledged over $200 billion for AI data centers, while Microsoft committed $50 billion for AI projects across the Global South by 2030. Other key deals included OpenAI's partnership with Tata Group to deploy massive compute infrastructure in India and a $600 million investment by Blackstone into the AI firm Neysa.

India expanded its AI focus into agriculture and commerce through subsequent events in Mumbai and Bengaluru. Union Minister Jitendra Singh announced that AI would drive a new agricultural revolution, supported by the Rs 10,372-crore India AI Mission and a pact with the Netherlands to integrate satellite imagery and real-time data for crop productivity. In Bengaluru, industry leaders at the ET AI Conclave shifted the narrative toward the return on investment, highlighting how companies like Meesho and CoRover.ai are transitioning AI from pilot projects to revenue-generating tools in logistics and government services.
