Police Service Commission Praises Nigeria Police Force Election Conduct
The Police Service Commission commended the Nigeria Police Force for maintaining professionalism and order during the Osun State Governorship Election.
The Police Service Commission commended the Nigeria Police Force for its professionalism, orderliness, and cordiality during the Osun State Governorship Election held on August 15, 2026. In an interim report based on observations across 30 Local Government Areas, the commission found that police deployment was strategic and adequate, with an average of four officers stationed at each polling unit.
DIG (Dr) Taiwo Lakanu (rtd.), leader of the PSC Monitoring Team, praised Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu for the effective deployment strategy. Lakanu also credited the leadership of Election DIG Isyaku Mohammed and Election CP Samuel Erale Etaifo for the operation's success.
The commission noted that successful inter-agency collaboration between the police and the Nigerian Army, Navy, and Air Force contributed to a peaceful election process.
