Northland Power Completes Turbine Installation at Baltic Power

Northland Power completed turbine installation at Baltic Power, Poland's first offshore wind project, which is on track for full commercial operations in 2026.

Northland Power Inc. completed the installation of all 76 turbines at Baltic Power, the first offshore wind project in Poland. The 1.1 GW facility, located in the Baltic Sea, began generating its first power in July 2026, with more than one-third of the turbines currently operational.

Jointly owned by Northland Power and ORLEN, the project is expected to produce approximately 4 terawatt-hours of electricity annually. This output will power more than 1.5 million Polish households and meet roughly 3% of the country's current electricity demand. The facility is supported by a 25-year contract-for-difference mechanism to ensure revenue stability, and costs remain aligned with original projections.

Beyond the wind farm, Northland Power is developing two grid-scale battery energy storage projects in Poland with a combined capacity of 300 MW / 1.2 GWh. CEO Christine Healy stated that the project demonstrates the company's ability to execute complex, large-scale offshore wind projects by combining local knowledge with international expertise.
