Israel Allies Conference in Lisbon Targets Rising European Antisemitism

The Israel Allies Foundation hosted its annual European Chairman’s Conference on June 2-3, 2026, in Lisbon, Portugal. The summit convened the chairmen of parliamentary Israel allies caucuses from 15 European nations, alongside diplomats from the United States and Israel and leaders from Jewish and Christian communities, to combat the rise of antisemitism following the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attacks.

Israeli Minister for Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism Amichai Chikli addressed the gathering via video, criticizing Western European leadership as dangerously weak. Chikli urged parliamentarians to recognize that the delegitimization of Israel is inseparable from the delegitimization of the Jewish people and called on nations to defend democratic values against radical Islam.

Conference organizers and participants emphasized the need to move beyond rhetoric to create concrete policy and legislative action. Portuguese MP Pedro Frazão and IAF President Josh Reinstein stressed that the resolve of Never Again must be translated into law to protect Jewish communities facing increasing hatred cloaked in the language of anti-Zionism.
