Temasek to Increase Indian Equity Investments After Ministerial Talks

Temasek Holdings is expected to expand its investments in Indian equities following the fourth India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable in Singapore.

The Singaporean sovereign wealth fund Temasek Holdings is expected to increase its investments in Indian equities following the fourth India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable held in Singapore on August 20. Singapore High Commissioner Simon Wong noted that the fund, which has been a consistent net buyer of Indian stocks, will be on an "even hotter streak" following the diplomatic discussions.

The roundtable focused on expanding bilateral cooperation in digitalization, healthcare, the green economy, and advanced manufacturing. Officials also reviewed progress regarding semiconductors and UPI-PayNow connectivity. As part of the broader diplomatic momentum, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India and the Singapore Food Agency signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate on bilateral trade and food safety.

This investment outlook coincides with the successful Indian stock market debuts of Temasek-backed companies Shiprocket and Milky Mist Dairy Food. Singapore served as India's largest source of foreign direct investment in FY2025-26, with total investments reaching USD 19.8 billion.
