Community Fibre Launches Flexible eSIM After Consumer Overpayment Study
Community Fibre introduced a monthly renewing eSIM after a survey found 38% of UK adults feel trapped in poor-value contracts.
A survey of 2,000 UK adults conducted by OnePoll reveals that 38% of respondents feel trapped in contracts or subscriptions offering poor value for money. These overpriced deals cost consumers an estimated £576 annually, with energy contracts, TV packages, and mobile phone agreements identified as the primary sources of dissatisfaction. The research also found that 26% of adults continued paying for forgotten video, music, and software subscriptions.
In response to these findings, Community Fibre partnered with personal finance expert Peter Komolafe to launch a monthly renewing mobile eSIM. The new product provides unlimited data, calls, and texts via a rolling contract, catering to the 48% of surveyed adults who prefer shorter, more adaptable agreements over long-term commitments.
Komolafe promoted the eSIM as a way for consumers to secure fixed monthly pricing and maintain flexibility. He advised individuals to regularly monitor their outgoings to avoid the cumulative effect of small price rises that often leave people paying more than they realize.
