Spain Condemns Israeli Settler Violence in West Bank

The Government of Spain issued a formal condemnation of an escalating wave of violence perpetrated by Israeli settlers in the West Bank. The diplomatic response follows a Friday attack in the town of Tell, near Nablus, that killed four Palestinian civilians and two Israeli settlers.

Spanish officials urged the Government of Israel to de-escalate tensions, ensure perpetrators face justice, and reverse policies that shield settler violence and expand settlements. The Spanish government reaffirmed its commitment to a two-state solution and demanded that Israel meet its legal obligations as the occupying power.

Concurrent with the settler attacks, Israeli forces imposed a siege on Nablus, conducted mass arrest raids, and prepared for wide-scale military operations. Additional violence included the burning of two mosques in the villages of Kur and Qusra.
