Chevron Announces Executive Reshuffle Amid CEO Succession Planning

Chevron Corporation reshuffled its top leadership, elevating Eimear Bonner to president of oil, products, and gas and naming Jeff Gustavson as the next CFO.

Chevron Corporation announced an executive reshuffle effective January 1 that shifts several top leaders into new roles. Chief Financial Officer Eimear Bonner will become president of the company's oil, products, and gas business, while Jeff Gustavson, the current president of the new energies business, will succeed Bonner as CFO.

Mark Nelson, who currently leads the oil, products, and gas business, will transition to vice chairman to oversee strategy and business development. These changes come as CEO Mike Wirth prepares for succession planning. Wirth has led the company for over eight years and indicated in December that he did not expect to serve more than 10 years in the position.

Investors view both Bonner and Gustavson as potential candidates to succeed Wirth. The company stated that it maintains a robust succession planning process overseen by the board.
