DeepSeek Releases Super-Agent to Rival Anthropic Claude Code
DeepSeek released an open-source autonomous coding agent called Super-Agent to compete with U.S. AI firms following a 100 billion yuan funding round.
Chinese AI startup DeepSeek has released Super-Agent, an open-source prototype of an autonomous coding agent designed to compete with Anthropic PBC's Claude Code. Developed by the company's Harness team, the agent proactively monitors developer group conversations to identify coding problems and propose solutions without requiring direct human prompts.
The system is designed to "take as little human attention as possible, and give as much value as possible." This release occurs amid an intensifying rivalry between Chinese and U.S. technology firms to lead the market in affordable, advanced AI agents for professional automation.
To support its research and development efforts, DeepSeek recently raised approximately 100 billion yuan ($15 billion) in one of the largest funding rounds in China's history. The company is utilizing this capital to scale its operations ahead of a planned initial public offering.
