International Travel Delegation Tours Azerbaijan's Liberated Territories
The Most Traveled People club led a 40-member international delegation to Karabakh and East Zangezur to observe large-scale reconstruction and cultural restoration.
A delegation of approximately 40 international travelers from 13 countries, including the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, visited Karabakh and East Zangezur. Led by Charles Veley, founder of the Most Traveled People club, the group toured liberated territories to observe large-scale construction, restoration efforts, and Albanian temples.
In Shusha, the delegation visited the Lower Govhar Agha Mosque, the city's fortress walls, and the house-museums of Sadigjan and Khurshidbanu Natavan. Visitors received briefings on the city's history, the vandalism that occurred during a 30-year occupation, and the subsequent reconstruction following liberation. This trip represents the 17th visit by major global travel clubs to these regions between 2021 and 2026.
American traveler Angela Caveney praised the pace of infrastructure development in Shusha, Aghdam, and the Kalbajar district. Caveney noted that the speed of construction for new roads, bridges, and tunnels would be impossible in her own country. Beyond the reconstruction sites, the itinerary included visits to Baku's Old City and the mud volcanoes and rock carvings of Gobustan.
