Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, transferred ₹146.32 crore in pension benefits to 987,017 beneficiaries for July 2026. The disbursements were executed via Direct Benefit Transfer to ensure welfare schemes reach citizens with transparency and dignity, removing the requirement for elderly and disabled citizens to visit government offices.
Managed by the Social Welfare Department, the funds targeted several vulnerable groups. This included 615,628 old-age pensioners, 236,983 widows, and 89,128 persons with disabilities. Most recipients received ₹1,500 per month, while pensions for farmers and abandoned women were set at ₹1,200.
Social Welfare Minister Khajan Das noted that approximately 2.15 lakh of these pensioners are covered under the National Social Assistance Programme. These specific payments are being processed through the new SNA-SPARSH system.
