Judge Authorizes Subpoenas in Radiant World Criminal Case

US District Judge John Cronan authorized Mariner Atlantic Multi-Strategy LLC to subpoena payment records from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the Clearing House Interbank Payments System. The ruling supports the investment fund in its pursuit of a criminal complaint filed in Switzerland against iron ore trader Radiant World.

Judge Cronan determined that the requested records, which target specific accounts and timeframes, are not unduly intrusive or burdensome. The court found that the fund had no other means of obtaining the documents and noted that Swiss courts are receptive to assistance from US judicial counterparts.
