Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Unveils Superb and Slavia Sedans
Škoda Auto Volkswagen India launched the facelifted Slavia and announced the return of the Superb and Octavia RS to the Indian market.
Škoda Auto Volkswagen India unveiled a refreshed sedan lineup in Mumbai, featuring the facelifted Slavia and the fourth-generation Superb flagship. The company also announced a second batch of 50 units for the Octavia RS, a full import powered by a 265hp 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. These launches signal a strategic bet on sedan demand despite a broader industry shift toward SUVs.
The new Superb will be imported as a completely built unit in the Laurin & Klement trim, with deliveries scheduled for the second quarter of 2027. It features a 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 150hp, marking the return of diesel power to the Volkswagen Group in India after a six-year hiatus. The flagship includes Level 2 ADAS, 10 airbags, and a 12.9-inch infotainment system, with an expected price range of Rs 55 lakh to 60 lakh.
Pre-bookings for the facelifted Slavia have opened with a down payment of Rs 15,000, with deliveries expected during the upcoming festive season. The company will honor existing Octavia RS bookings from the previous year before accepting new orders. Leadership emphasized that India remains a critical global growth market, with the Slavia having sold nearly 80,000 units to date.
