Circle Partners With BlackRock and Visa for Arc Blockchain
Circle launched its Arc blockchain with a group of institutional partners including BlackRock and Visa to operate the network.
Circle announced a group of initial institutional partners to operate its new Arc blockchain. The partnership includes major financial and payment entities such as BlackRock, Visa, Mastercard, the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation, Galaxy, Global Payments, Moneygram, and Intercontinental Exchange, the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange.
CEO Jeremy Allaire stated that the number of network operators could eventually grow to between 20 and 40 over time. The long-term success of the Arc blockchain over the next 12 months depends on whether the network achieves measurable ecosystem adoption or remains defined primarily by its initial partnerships rather than actual usage.
