Apple Raises US Trade-In Values Ahead of iPhone 18

Apple increased trade-in estimates for most of its hardware and expanded Android eligibility to encourage upgrades before the iPhone 18 Pro launch.

Apple Inc. increased estimated trade-in values for the majority of its iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch models in the United States on August 6, 2026. The adjustments come weeks before the company is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro lineup.

Mac computers experienced the most significant value jumps, with some increases approaching 30 percent. Notable gains include the Mac Studio, which rose from $1,045 to $1,305, and the MacBook Pro, which increased from $690 to $855. The Mac mini also saw a nearly 30 percent increase.

Among iPhones, the iPhone 16 Pro Max reached a top estimate of $720, while the iPhone 16 Pro saw its value move from $560 to $630. These changes aim to offset rising hardware prices and incentivize customers to upgrade to newer models or use the Apple Upgrade leasing option.

Apple also expanded its trade-in program to include more Android devices, adding the Google Pixel 9 series, OnePlus 13, and Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G. While some existing Android estimates decreased slightly, the overall trend favors owners of newer devices. Final credits remain subject to physical inspection of device condition and configuration.
