Labour Party Disowns Abayomi Arabambi Over Peter Obi Lawsuit

The Labour Party has formally disowned Abayomi Arabambi following a lawsuit he filed against the West African Examinations Council, the National Youth Service Corps, and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. The legal action seeks to challenge the academic records of Peter Obi.

National Publicity Secretary Ken Asogwa stated that Arabambi is no longer a member of the party, noting he was suspended by the National Executive Council on March 18, 2026, for anti-party activities. This suspension was ratified by the party's National Convention on April 28, 2026. The party characterized Arabambi's claims to be a party chieftain as unauthorized impersonation.

While the party is reviewing legal options and potential petitions to law enforcement, Asogwa clarified that this membership dispute does not affect the validity of the court case against Obi. The Labour Party further stated that Peter Obi is also no longer a member of the organization.
