Xbox CEO Announces Project Helix Next-Gen Hardware Family
Xbox CEO Asha Sharma revealed Project Helix will be a family of devices focusing on performance, affordability, and cross-platform gaming capabilities.
Asha Sharma, CEO of Xbox, announced that the company's next-generation hardware, codenamed Project Helix, will launch as a family of devices rather than a single console. In an interview with BBC News, Sharma stated that Microsoft intends to push performance boundaries while innovating on affordability and efficiency to address current hardware and component crises.
Project Helix may enable users to play both console and PC games on the same device. To manage potential high costs, Sharma proposed exploring diverse business models similar to those used in the smartphone industry to give consumers more options for purchasing hardware.
Regarding software strategy, Sharma noted that "every platform needs some form of exclusive experiences" when asked about the potential exclusivity of The Elder Scrolls 6.
