10-Year Treasury Yield Hits 5.3 Percent Pressuring Bitcoin
The 10-Year Treasury yield reached its highest level since 2007, driving investors away from Bitcoin and other volatile assets toward low-risk fixed-income investments.
The United States Department of the Treasury saw the 10-Year Treasury yield climb to 5.3 percent, the highest level since 2007. This surge has created significant bearish pressure on Bitcoin and other riskier assets as the rise in yields strengthens the U.S. dollar.
Investors are currently rotating out of volatile assets and Bitcoin ETFs to fund safer, low-risk fixed-income investments such as bonds and CDs that offer guaranteed interest. Although Bitcoin is frequently positioned as a hedge against inflation and fiat currency debasement, it is currently facing the same headwinds as gold in this high-yield environment.
Bitcoin is trading at $84,000, which is approximately 33 percent below its all-time high of $126,000 set in October 2025. Market analysts suggest the cryptocurrency may not return to its peak until Treasury yields decline and risk-seeking investor behavior returns to the market.
