Wingstop Reports Q2 Revenue Miss and Sales Decline

Wingstop reported Q2 2026 revenue of $185.6 million, missing analyst estimates amid a 7.5% drop in same-store sales.

Wingstop Restaurants reported second-quarter 2026 revenue of $185.6 million, a 6.4% year-on-year increase that fell short of the $190.2 million analyst estimate. The company also saw a 7.5% decline in same-store sales. Despite these challenges, non-GAAP profit reached $1.18 per share, exceeding consensus estimates by 15.2%.

CEO Michael Skipworth attributed the traffic decline to inflation-driven pressure on core guests, particularly within urban markets. However, the company experienced double-digit sales growth during major sporting events, including the NBA Finals and the World Cup.

To address the sales slump, Wingstop launched the Club Wingstop loyalty program, which has surpassed enrollment targets. The company also implemented value-focused promotions, such as a 30-for-30 bundle and $1 wings. Additionally, Wingstop is deploying a Smart Kitchen initiative intended to improve guest satisfaction and operational consistency.
